It all started in England...

Ye Olde NetballNetball's come a long way from its English origins, back in the 1890s when it was played on grass lawns in London and called 'Net ball'.

Gone are the days of long dresses and restricted movement, nowadays netball's a fast-paced and physically demanding sport! And we love it!!!

NETBALL NORTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME

In March Netball North in association with ASB Community Trust invited young potential Netball players to participate in a Leadership Programme. The aim of this project is to inspire and train leaders based on their involvement in sport. Netball is the largest sport (playing numbers) in the Northern area of New Zealand and the largest Netball region in this country. This programme seeks to identify and support young people who will contribute to the region.

The Development Centre programme has six elements:

Co-ordination Activity, Leadership Education/Training, Placement Opportunity, Increased Participation Access and Inspiration, Mentoring

Sport Gulf Harbour would like to congratulate Georgia Clark on her selection to take part in this programme. Georgia is currently coaching our Year 7 Netball girls. They are obviously in good hands. Well done Georgia
